The Brewers kicked off the annual New Prague Tournament against a familiar foe Friday night, the St. Benedict Saints. Nate Beckman got the start and was very good as he threw the first no-hitter since T.J. Oakes threw one in this same New Prague Tournament. Nate only faced 1 batter over the minimum in cruising to the victory. He struck out 5 and walked 1.
The offense was paced by Scott Hollingsworth and Paul Buss each with 2 hits. Jordan Goracke had a 2-run triple.
Up next is the St. Francis Saints, who defeated New Prague 12-0. First pitch is tonight at 6pm.
