Friday night the Brewers hit the road again for the first RVL game of the season in Gaylord, MN.  Last year the Brewers defeated the Islanders in an elimination game of the section 6C playoffs.

Trent Bohnsack got the start on the mound for the Brewers.  The Brewers jumped up early on youngster Brody Rodning plating 2 in the top of the 1st.  The Islanders answered with a solo HR in the bottom half of the 1st.  The Brewers then put up 5 runs in the top of the 3rd to blow open this one.  From there we had one of the scariest moments happen that most people would ever see.

Trent Bohnsack threw a fastball that was hit by Josh Gasow right back at Trent striking him right above his left eye.  Trent layed motionless for a few minutes with his team surrounding him and the hitter Gasow.  Everyone kind of in shock on what happened, Trent did throw some humor into the situation and was able to walk off the field and into an ambulance on his own power.  9 stitches was thankfully all Trent came away with.  We are happy to say Trent is improving daily and look to see him back on the field soon enough.

Scott Hollingsworth took over on the mound and threw 4 scoreless innings and Nate Beckman finished it off with a scoreless 8th and 9th and the Brewers cruised to a 11-2 win.  Trent Simek paced the offense with 4 hits.

Next up for the Brewers a trip to Waterville Tuesday June 3rd before participating in the New Prague Tournament this upcoming weekend.
